Spider Solitaire Guide
Play Spider Solitaire online
Spider Solitaire is a single-player card game played with two standard decks for a total of 104 cards. The cards are arranged across ten tableau columns, with the remaining cards held in the stock.
Your goal is to organize the tableau into complete same-suit sequences from King down to Ace. Each completed sequence is removed automatically. Clear all eight sequences to win.
1 Suit, 2 Suits or 4 Suits
Start with 1 Suit to learn the game, move to 2 Suits for a tougher challenge, or play 4 Suits for the full Spider Solitaire experience. The basic rules remain the same, but building movable same-suit sequences becomes more difficult as additional suits are introduced.
How to play Spider Solitaire
- Build tableau cards downward by rank.
- You can place a card on the next higher rank even when the suits are different.
- Only same-suit descending sequences can move together.
- Any movable card or sequence can move into an empty column.
- Complete a same-suit sequence from King through Ace to remove all 13 cards.
- You must fill every empty column before dealing another row from the stock.
- Complete all eight King-to-Ace runs to win.
Spider Solitaire strategy
Try to expose face-down cards early and create empty columns whenever possible. Empty columns give you more room to reorganize the tableau. Building cards in the same suit is especially useful because those sequences can later move together.
Before dealing another row from the stock, look for moves that improve your existing sequences. New cards are added to every column, so dealing too early can make organized runs harder to complete.
